Comano is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Massa and Carrara, Tuscany, Italy, of some 800 inhabitants. In the nearby is the pieve of ''Santa Maria Assunta''. It was rebuilt in 1079 in Romanesque style; later it was modified in Renaissance and Baroque times. It has also a castle. ==Climate== Comano and its nearby, although the sea is only away, have a climate considerably colder than the sea shore. This is mainly due to the nearness of the Appennino. Summer is hot with mean high temperatures of , but nights are cool with mean lows of . Summer thunderstorms are frequent because the hot and humid air rises from the sea and condenses against the Apennine slopes. Winter is typically cold and damp.
